Other build blogs I follow:
http://wembley35.blogspot.com.au/ : MummaDJ also has a huge alfresco just like ours. Good to read that the alfresco is one of the things she loves.
http://waldorf44oakleigh.blogspot.com.au/ : Jack & Michelle are also doing the Chatsworth facade!
http://bendigowaldorf.blogspot.com.au/ : Brenton probably has the hugest block of land Porter Davis has even worked on meaning their Govt & OHS is like $100 compared to my $20k! Not fair!
http://waldorf46boston.blogspot.com.au/ : I like what Phil has done to the extended terrace / balcony!
http://waldorf44ma.blogspot.com.au/ : A very lovely stirling facade with a nice backyard pool to match!
http://sandringham45.blogspot.com.au/: The widest garage I have ever seen
http://projecthouse2012.blogspot.com.au/: I can not believe these guys' brickwork was so bad, they had to rip it all up and rebrick the 3 sides of the house.
Update: New blogs that have started their builds after mine
Update 07/12/2014:
Cam and Kisten built with Metricon. Now that I'm closer to finishing, I'm reading up on their landscaping story...

Hi Jerry,
ReplyDeleteI posted way back in November on this blog, lots of helpful information as I have now put a deposit down on the Marriott 48 (modified for us though). Just curious, it has been about three weeks now since we signed off on our quote and our file was submitted for processing, how long did it take from that point in your process, until tender and colour selections? Might be a bit delayed for us since we had some significant alterations to the floor plan for them to process, I would have thought we'd get a BC by now though.
Hi Danny, Our BC called us within 2 weeks and the Engineering company called us to book the soil test in shortly afterwards. If you are in the East, I've been told there's been an influx of work come in so they are taking forever to revise my contract. If you're concerned, I suggest talking to your SC and have her chase it up for you.
DeleteAlso we had a two month gap between our Sales and Tender but there was a Christmas break in between. Colours, Electrical, and Tiles, and Contract is 'normally' within one month after Tender.
DeleteThanks Jerry, yes we are chasing up with our SC, however he has only advised that the file is with the office and they are working on it. We are in the East, however our site start is set for June, hopefully things start moving quickly.
ReplyDeleteWas contacted by BC yesterday and got tender and contract appointment dates, hope everything is progressing with your contract too.
ReplyDeleteThat's great to hear. It's in their best interest to get you moving since they're not making money out of you until you put down the Tender money. Remember, you can request for a copy of the Soil Report to be sent to you as well since that is what your initial $1000 pays for.
Deleteyour blog is so helpful and really GREAT. Thanks for sharing all of these with us. much appreciated!
ReplyDeleteBeing safe around your swimming pool with some frameless glass pool fencing installed will surely give you a peace of mind especially having small children playing around it!
